Still Weaving

Normally when Weave Through Winter ends at the end of February, I am over paper weaving. This year I just want to keep on weaving. I have been thinking about making a book of bird weavings ever since birds were my theme last year. Here is what I came up with.

I created the cyanotype prints last summer and fall and as soon as the sun returns to the north, I will make more. I am out of these prints on watercolor paper which make a perfect background for some of my favorite birds.

In case you are wondering, the birds represented are:

page 1 Barn owl

page 2 Red breasted grosbeak (with an attitude)

page 3 Sandpiper

page 4 Rufus sided towhee

page 5 White breasted nuthatch (a bird that can and frequently does walk down tree trunks head first, so cute)

page 6 Avocet
